Andrew Knack — campaign bio + Wikipedia self-positioning¶
andrewknack.ca/andrew-knack-bio¶
Third-person campaign copy (his own site): - "dedicated to public service, and to standing up for everyday Edmontonians" - "listening deeply, engaging honestly, and standing up for the everyday needs of residents" - "helped deliver real taxpayer savings while pushing for a more transparent and values-based approach to budgeting" - his mother "instilled a deep respect for the values of service and empathy"
andrewknack.ca/vision-for-edmonton¶
- "Andrew is the only truly independent candidate for Mayor"
- "His 12 years of public service on City Council shows he knows how to listen, show up, and stand up for you"
Wikipedia — Andrew Knack (self-described ideology)¶
- "According to Knack, he grew up as a conservative but shifted centre-left as he got older."
- Described as an Independent politician; CBC headline dubbed him "Edmonton's everyman."
Reading: the ceiling here is explicit and self-declared — "centre-left," "independent," "everyman." Never socialist, never anti-capitalist. Corroborates the Solo Spotlight admission that he "was very very right-wing" growing up. A political strategist during the race characterized him as positioning himself as "the only progressive candidate" (CTV News, Sept 16 2025) — progressive as a market-differentiation slot, not a principle.
