Reading: this is where Janz most sounds like a leftist — naming "the capital class," refusing developer money, an anti-poverty vocabulary. But his own theory of change is the Overton window: nudge public opinion incrementally, and drop the one genuinely redistributive proposal (the mansion tax) the moment administration pushes back. That is the ceiling the brief names — the management of the poor within capitalism, an admission that the win is shifting the conversation rather than changing who owns what. He is endorsed by / associated with the NDP but runs as an "independent," and does not call himself a socialist.
