Water Warriors YEG distributes water, food, warm clothing, bedding, hygiene items and harm-reduction supplies directly to unhoused Edmontonians. Founded 2020 at the height of COVID-19 to fill "critical gaps in support for unhoused communities"; started with a borrowed wagon, now reaches ~500 unhoused neighbours per week. 100% volunteer-run; mobile, going to where people are, reaching folks with mobility and addiction barriers.

Direct material support delivered by hand, weekly, to the exact population the city was fencing out of cleared encampment sites ($225,000 of fence in the first 9 months of 2024). The contrast writes itself: the city's instrument toward these bodies was the bulldozer and the fence; the mutual-aid instrument is water and a blanket at the tent. Named among the Coalition for Justice and Human Rights' affiliated groups.
