Air-1 helicopter: - "The Edmonton Police Service unveiled its new $5.9-million, state-of-the-art Air 1 helicopter" (February 2019). - Funding: "$3.4 million in funding coming from the Alberta Government Municipal Sustainability Initiative, and the remaining from the City of Edmonton" (~$2.5M city).

Air-2 helicopter: - "AIR-2 was originally budgeted at $6.2 million in 2019 as part of a planned fleet replacement." - "It was paid for by a loan from the City of Edmonton that will be repaid through efficiencies in the police operating budget."

Both are Airbus H-125 models (uniform fleet for training/maintenance efficiency).

Combined capital: ~$5.9M (Air-1) + ~$6.2M (Air-2) = ~$12.1M for the two-helicopter fleet renewal circa 2019. Note: These are aircraft-acquisition capital costs. Annual operating cost of the Flight Operations Section (fuel, pilots, tactical flight officers, maintenance) is separate and not captured here — historically in the low-single-digit millions/year for comparable programs, but no EPS-specific operating figure obtained.
